From Our Founder
“I have always been drawn to beautiful interiors and the quiet presence of well-made objects. From an early age, antiques felt less like possessions and more like companions—pieces that carry history, texture, and meaning.
At 23, while many were choosing holidays, I was choosing furniture. I happily exchanged travel for an original Swedish cupboard, a decision that perfectly captures my approach to collecting: thoughtful, instinctive, and deeply personal.
The name Mooi & Zo—Dutch for ‘Beautiful and So’—reflects my roots and my belief that beauty is rarely about perfection alone. It is about atmosphere, balance, and the subtle details that make a space feel complete. Having lived in several countries, my eye has been shaped by different cultures, traditions, and ways of living. These influences come together in the collection you see today.
For me, culture is not something static; it is how we express ourselves, how we live, and how we connect with the past while creating something relevant for the present. Mooi & Zo is an extension of that belief—a curated expression of beauty, history, and lived experience.”
